Sweet Treat
By : Ontario Kitchen | On : 2012-04-29 | Category : Popcorn Sometimes you just need to indulge. We love this recipe for sweet and salty butterscotch popcorn on movie night, it's a bit messy to eat but totally addictive. Ever since we found popcorn kernels from Oak Manor Organic Mill in Tavistock (oakmanorfarms.ca) it's been even better! source: Ontario Kitchen Check out the recipe here.
Maple Butterscotch Popcorn
Making caramel and butterscotch can seem intimidating, but it just takes a little practice. Sometimes an impurity or some little movement can make the sugar crystallize and then you have to start all over, but if you use a clean pot and just leave it alone until it changes colour everything should work out. You need to keep a close eye on the sugar as well... once it starts changing colour it will go from perfect golden to burnt in a very short time. Also, this is very important: be very careful when handling melted sugar!
